Stainless Steel Food Storage

I received the Steelware Leak-proof Stainless Steel Food Storage through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Set of 3
  • Snap close lids
  • Durable stainless steel
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Clear lids for easy viewing
  • Sizes: 1 quart, 3 cups, & 2 cups
The set of 3 stainless steel food storage containers are easy to use and help preserve and keep food fresher.

The 3 sizes work to help with portion control. The large is a quart size, medium is 3 cups, and the small is 2 cups. The sizes work well to stack them inside of each other. This helps with easy storage, but the lids cannot be on them or stacked as easily.

The snap on lids help create a airtight seal and prevent leaking. All four snaps must be down and in place for the containers to be leak-proof. If one of the snaps is left open or not fully snapped, the container could still leak. It would no longer be an airtight seal, which would make the food less fresh over a period of time.

The stainless steel containers are easy to wash. Using soap and water or placing the containers in the dishwasher works well. The stainless steel container part doesn't get spots on them as easily as the lids do. The lids tend to get a lot of spots on them if water dries on them without being wiped off.

These stainless steel containers may not do well in the microwave. I wouldn't recommend trying to heat up left over food using these containers.

Pros:
- Easy to clean (dishwasher safe)
- Easy open lids
- Can create airtight and leak-proof seal

Cons:
- Plastic lids get water spots on them easily
- Not good to use in microwave

Kitchen Utensil Set

I received the R.S.G Kitchen Utensil Set through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • 6 pieces (slotted turner, slotted spoon, serving spoon, soup ladle, spaghetti server, and spatula
  • Ergonomic and brightly colored handles
  • Nylon heats are to resist heat up to 485 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Easy to clean (dishwasher safe)
The holder for the utensils fairly decent. The base feels sturdy, but the pegs where the utensils go on can get broken off if too much pressure is placed on them. I wouldn't recommend dropping the holder in case one of the pegs gets broken off. The top of the holder, the black circle part with the pegs, does spin to allow you to select which utensil you want without moving the base of the stand.

The utensils are average to slightly above average.

The handles of the utensils are wonderful. They have a great grip and hold on them. It feels like a natural hold with how my hand usually rests.

The nylon heads are heat resistant. I haven't had any of them melt on me. Although, some of the edges of the heads are rough and can scratch you. It had came with those sharp edges. They didn't appear after or during use.

The part that I don't like about these utensils is the stainless steel core. According the the company's description, the stainless steel core is suppose to be sturdy and durable. I didn't have to put much effort or pressure behind bending the utensils at the stainless steel core. The core is very thin. It's easy to bend back into place, but getting bent too often or too far could cause them to break or get stuck.

i-Design Aviator Sunglasses

I received the i-Design ID1004 ultra light rectangular aviator sunglasses through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Tr90 Nylon Lenses for uv protection
  • Lightweight
  • 58mm frame shatterproof stainless steel
  • Synthetic rubber earpieces and nose-pads
  • Screwless design

The sunglasses come in a very nice sunglass case and bag to help protect the sunglasses. The box is great for storing the sunglasses. The box is magnetized to keep it shut. The bag is a draw-string style bag. Also, it comes with a cleaning cloth for the lenses.

The lenses is shaped and styled like the aviator sunglasses. The sunglasses are a black darkened look that is non-polarized. The lenses help protect the eyes from uva, uvb, uvc, and harmful blue-lights. These lenses are not scratch proof.

The rubber on the nose and earpieces are comfortable and fit well.
The screwless designed is new to me. It's a nice idea, but you can hear the stainless steel edges rubbing together. To me, it's an annoying sound, not as bad as nails on a chalkboard. This screwless design could cause skin or small fingers to get pinched between the folds. It can also catch and pull on hair. The stainless edges on the arms is rounded, but the edges on the frames where the bend or fold is with the arms is a bit rough or sharp.

The stainless steel frames are very thin. They may be shatterproof, but they can still bend. If bent too far for too long, the frames does get stuck that way, especially the ear pieces.

How far these sunglasses bend does worry me. I wouldn't recommend allowing a child or anyone to play with these sunglasses if they're going to bend them. I'm afraid they could actually break.

I've had several people ask me to see these sunglasses, and they're first reactions once they felt the lightweight frames were that they were "cheap" because of how light and bendable they were.

Kitchen Zest Measuring Spoons

I received the Kitchen Zest 18/8 Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Stainless Steel
  • Deep groove engraving
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Soft grip
  • Removable ring
Before I opened this product, I was a little worried how easy the measuring spoons could be to read to know what size they were. I've gotten metal or stainless steel sets before that were really tough to read due to their light engraving.

I was very pleased to see that the Kitchen Zest set is very easy to read. The engraving on the spoons are deep and big enough that the size stands out on the spoons. The engraving has both standard and metric sizes. I usually don't use the metric readings, but it is nice in case I need to use them. It saves me from having to look them up.

The set has the basic sizes I use for baking and cooking. The set includes a 1 tablespoon, 1/2 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, and 1/4 teaspoon measures.

The grip on these measuring spoons is very soft and easy to grip. The material reminds me of silicone or rubber. Although, the back of the black handle grip part is open. This could make it difficult to clean if, for example, you drop it into the baking batter or mixture when adding an ingredient. These measuring spoons are dishwasher safe, so it does make it easier to clean.

The ring the measuring spoons are on has an easy snap open and close clasp to help get the spoons off with ease. It helps keep the spoons organized and in the same place, yet also allows you the freedom to use and clean one spoon at a time.

I did expect the stainless steel of the spoons to be thicker or heavier to bend. The stainless steel reminds me of some of the silverware I've had at restaurants that could be bent and curved.

Overall, the measuring spoons are not as durable as I had thought they would be, but for the basic home cooking and baking, they work very well.

KUKPO Can Opener

I received the KUKPO Can Opener through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Large turn handle
  • Stainless steel
When I first received this product, I was a bit nervous with how well it would work. I've ordered and bought different can openers that said they were high quality and they didn't work well. I had never tried a KUKPO can opener before this one.

I was very pleased with how easy and well this can opener worked.

The disk to cut open the can worked smoothly. I didn't have to back track any of the times I've used this can opener. It cut through the can with ease. The cutting disk lined up with the cans very well. The size and style of the can didn't really affect how it worked.

The handle is large and easy to turn. It feels comfortable to hold and use. The size of the handle makes the can opener easy to turn without having the hand cramp from trying to use force to turn the handle.

The stainless steel handles are thick and easy to hold in a comfortable position. They're not to heavy either.

The can opener can be washed in water with mild detergents.

This KUKPO can opener is truly high quality.

Insulated Cola Shaped Water Bottle

I received the MIRA 17oz. Insulated Cola Shaped Water Bottle through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • 17 oz
  • Can be used for cold or hot drinks
  • Stainless Steel interior
When I first received this water bottle, I could tell by the feel that the bottle was made of a nice stainless steel that would keep the drink cool or hot depending on what type of drink I had in it.

I took off the lid, which it made an awful sound for the first few turns of the cap. The lid has a nice seal on it to keep the drinks inside without having the bottle leak or spill if tipped over. The lid goes down into the bottle, so I noticed that the bottle can't be filled all the way to the top otherwise the liquid would be pushed out. Basically, where the bottle narrows at the top is where the cut off point for the liquid should be.

The small opening makes it a little difficult to clean the bottle thoroughly. This isn't a bottle to put coffee or hot chocolate in because of how difficult it can be to clean. Clear liquids would be fine.

I also put a paper towel in the bottle after I wash it to keep it from smelling and to help it get dry.

The first time I used the cola water bottle, I had put gatoraid and a few crushed ice cubes inside the bottle to get it cold. I didn't put it in the fridge or anything beyond that. I was surprised at how cold the bottle and my drink had got under a half hour. The coldness last a few hours that way.

A few of the other times I've used the water bottle, I had put my drink into the water bottle and stuck it in the fridge for awhile before I took it with me. The drink stayed cold for more than eight hours. It gradually got warmer, but it stayed colder than room temperature for those eight hours. I was surprised.

Corkscrew & Wine Stopper

I received the Corkscrew and Wine Stopper by Select Culinary through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Can open wine bottles or beer bottles.
  • Stainless steel
  • Lightweight
  • Durable

The corkcscrew seemed lightweight when I was holding it. My family and I had tried this corkscrew during our family Christmas. We tried it on one wine bottle and didn't like how it worked. The corkscrew tip wasn't really sharp to get it into the cork. We finally got it after wiggling it into the cork. Then it was difficult to screw the screw into the cork. It was stiff and took a few minutes. Then pushing down the handles to pop out the cork took some strength. It was pretty snug.

The corkscrew wasn't the best we've ever used, but it did get the job done. It wasn't the worst corkscrew either. It didn't break upon usage.

The wine stopper was wonderful though.

The stopper was nice and heavy duty. It fit the open wine bottle perfectly. It helped seal it without any leakage.
