Dog Nail Grinder by Luvao

I received the Premium Dog Nail Grinder by Luvao through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Durable
  • Quick grinding
  • No longer than 5 seconds per nail
  • Easy to clean
  • Takes 2 AA batteries (not included)
The nail grinder from Luvao is a decent dog nail grinder. It worked better than I expected the nail grinder. I was expecting the nail grinder to not do much or to take a long while to get their nails filed down.

The wider open part of the cap is for medium to large sized breeds. The smaller opening is for small pets. My dogs are both smaller, so I used that side to be sure to only do one nail at a time.

Before ever trying the nail grinder on my dogs, I tried it on a few of my longer nails. I wanted to know how it felt before I even dared put it near my dogs.

I could feel the grinder move across my nail and quickly filing it. The feeling wasn't painful. It felt more like a quick vibration and some what tickled. The grinder did give me smooth edges on my nails without splitting them.

This grinder isn't exactly mute. There's still a vibrating sound that the grinder gives off. It made my dogs nervous about having the grinder near them.

If dogs are not calm around the grinder, it could take more than one person to help keep them still.

The nail grinder isn't what I'd consider 100% safe for a pet. There's still a risk of human error if the grinder is put on the pets nail too long and accidentally grind their nail too short, making them bleed.

If you don't rotate the nail or grinder to different angles of the pet's nails, the nails could get sharper than they were before.

The nail grinder is easy to clean and to take off the cap. The directions are included on the packaging.

One thing that I did notice is that the description and the packaging did not tell you what kind of batteries needed.

Pros:
- Quick to use
- Easy to clean
- Different sized openings

Cons:
- Vibration noise can still scare pets (Not mute)
- Can make nail sharper if not used properly

Shed Ninja 2-in-1 Shedding Brush

I received the Shed Ninja 2-in-1 Shedding Brush through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Helps reduce shedding
  • Works on short & long hair dogs/cats
  • Detangles hair and removes loose hair
  • Stainless steel blade
  • Reaches beneath top coat
  • No sharp cutting blade
  • Rake side designed for thick or heavy coats
The shed ninja 2-in-1 brush works well to help reduce shedding and get rid of some of the loose hair on dogs.

The handle is a nice, comfortable size. It feels natural to hold.

The blade part of the brush isn't as sharp as some of the other blades I've had on other brushes. It's sharp enough to remove some of the loose hair, but it doesn't pull on the pets' hair has much. My dogs usually do not tolerate the de-shedding blades because they pull on the hair and it irritates them. My dogs don't exactly enjoy this blade, but they do sit still longer when I'm using the shed ninja blade compared to others.

The rake side of the shed ninja is what my dogs do enjoy. My dogs usually do not like wire or metal brushes. This is the second rake brush style that my dogs enjoy. They will actually sit still for me while I brush their hair. The ends of the rake are rounded and smooth. They don't scratch or irritate the skin. The two rows of the rake are two different sizes. One is shorter and the other is longer. This helps detangle the hair and get the top and under coats at the same time.

A part of the brush stood out to me. I noticed the head of the brush swivels or moves. It's attacked by a rounded connection that allows the brush to move while it's going against a surface. It moves in the direction I'm going, yet it moves to adjust to the pet's body. It feels like it's putting an event amount of pressure and curves with their shape.

This flexible head connection doesn't feel the sturdiest. I'm afraid to put too much pressure with it in case it breaks. For my long haired, small breed dogs, this brush works fine.  For larger dogs, it may take more effort and time using this size of brush. Note: I have the small-medium sized brush.

Pros:
- Flexible head
- Rounded ends on rake
- Rake rows two different sizes (gets top and undercoat)
- Nice handle
- Not a sharp blade

Cons:
- Flexible head connection doesn't feel sturdy

MyDog Pet Hair De-Shedding Tool

I received the MYDOG Pet Hair De-shedding Tool through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Shedding blade
  • Shedding rake
  • Gel comfort handle
The dual grooming tool works well for helping take care of my pets' hair. This shedding tool works great for toy, small, and medium sized dogs. Larger ones would take a quite a bit of time to go through their hair using this tool due to the size of the blades and rake.

The grooming tool has a very nice handle. It's the right size for a natural and comfortable hold. The gel is squishy and soft. It helps create a non-slip hold as well. The only issue I have with the gel handle is that it collects pet hair. Using soap and water helps remove pet hair from the surface of the handle.
My dogs have medium to long hair. They shed a lot due to being a Pomeranian and Shih Tzu mix. Most de-shedding tools do not make them stop shedding, but helps limit the amount of hair they do shed.

This tool helps them shed less as well. My dogs weren't big fans of the blade because the blade tends to pull on their hair. They don't like any de-shedding blades my family has tried.

The rake side of the brush was a different story, which surprised me a lot. Usually, my dogs want nothing to do with wired or metal type brushes. It must feel sharp or strange on their skin. The rake on this brush has very smooth and rounded ends. It doesn't scratch or irritate the skin. This was actually the first wired/metal type brush that I've found that they actually like to use.

Pros:
- Rake has rounded, smooth ends
- Helps reduce shedding
- Comfortable handle
- Nice plastic covering over de-shedding blade

Cons:
- Handle collects hair (but is easy to wash)

Deshedding Pet Grooming Tool

I received the Deshedding Pet Grooming Tool from Pettool through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Helps reduce shedding
  • 100mm durable stainless steel edge
  • Ergonomic non-slip rubber handle

When I first got this product, the packaging was minimal and little fuse. It was easy to open and to get to the product.

The comb and the handle were not attached.

The handle feels nice and comfortable to hold. The rubber handle helps make it a soft grip and a non-slip grip. It makes combing easy.

The piece that's the button and spring that helps hold and release the comb part seems very flimsy and could easily be broken. The comb snaps in easily, as long as the comb is facing down towards the handle and not up. It can also be easily pulled out.

The plastic cover of the comb that protects the metal part is very cheap. It just reminds me of the plastic packaging.

The comb isn't all that sharp. There's lots of little combs to help catch any loose hairs. It doesn't pull my dog's hair as much as others I have tried, but that also causes it to catch less hair than other deshedding combs I've tried.

My dogs prefer this one because it pulls less.

I have two toy breed dogs that I used this deshedding tool on. The one-size fits all does work with how small they are.

Precision Grooming Set

I received the Precision Grooming Set by Majestic Bombay through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • Stainless Steel Tweezers
  • Nail Scissors
  • Helps remove ingrown hairs, hair, and splinters
  • Comes with protective faux leather case
I liked the faux leather case the grooming set. The stitching was well done and it felt heavy duty. I feel like I don't have to worry about it ripping or getting damaged.

The stainless steel that this grooming set is made out of is high quality. The tweezers and scissors are heavy, but not too heavy that they're hard to hold. They're the perfect size or weight for a tweezers or scissors.

The tweezers work great to help grab onto ingrown hair or hair, such as eyebrows. The ends are aligned well, if not perfectly, so it makes it very easy to grip onto the hairs. I haven't had a splinter since I got this product, so I don't know how well the tweezers work at getting them out.

The scissors is sharp enough to help cut hang nails or loose skin around the finger nail area. It's small or thin enough to get close to the skin and clip the problem area with ease.

My favorite part about this grooming kit though is the color. The blue is bright and I love it.

Deluxe Pet Grooming Brush

I received the Deluxe Pet Grooming Brush by Ramini Brands through a promotion.

Product Info:
  • For dogs and cats
  • Reduces shedding
  • Durable metal and wood
  • 7" x 4" brush
  • Metal bristles are 7/8"
The brush has a nice heavy duty handle and top. It wasn't too heavy that would harm the pet or hurt to hold onto it for awhile. It wasn't too light either. It felt good to hang onto.

The bristles were hard and pokey. As long as you don't press down too hard, it shouldn't hurt the dog or cat.

My dogs usually don't like hard, metal bristle. They didn't freak out over it as badly as they have other metal bristle brushes. There's enough space between the bristles to make it easier to groom the pet.

The four year old dog didn't mind the brush. She enjoyed it as long as I didn't press down too hard. It moved a lot of loose hair and didn't pull or damage her fur. She enjoyed this brush more on her back and chest areas.

The puppy didn't enjoy this brush at all, but she acts that way towards most brushes or grooming tools.

It removed hair with ease and barely pulled on their fur. It removed tangles very well.
