Seaside Whispers Review & Giveaway

SEASIDE SUMMERS
Voted Beck Valley Books Reviewers Favorite Mini Series from the Love in Bloom Series in 2014
Featuring a group of fun, sexy, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're funny, flawed, and will have you begging to enter their circle of friends.

SEASIDE WHISPERS
Having a mad crush on her boss's son, Matt Lacroux--an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy--is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company, and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt's life is hours away from Mira's home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.

With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt's publishing contract couldn't have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book, and finally getting his arms around sweet, seductive Mira.

A surprise encounter leads to white-hot passions and midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt's sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira's not saving his father's company so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

SEASIDE WHISPERS is part of the SEASIDE SUMMERS series, and part of the "Love in Bloom" family. Each book may be read as a stand-alone novel, or as part of the series.

***REVIEW***
Seaside Whispers is an adorable addition to the Seaside series, with characters that are fun and easy to love.

Matt Lacroux has a difficult decision about his future to make. He's well educated, loyal, and goes for what he wants. I love seeing Matt interact with his family and friends. I especially enjoy the way Matt treats Hagen and cares for the young boy. It's certainly melts the heart reading the parts with Matt and Hagen together.
Mira Savage is an independent, single mother. She's driven to provide a good life for her son, Hagen. I adore her parenting style and how much she encourages Hagen to embrace what he enjoys doing. Her patients for her son's questions and desire to learn is admirable.

I rooted for Mira and Matt's relationship throughout the story. They make a very sweet couple.
I do wish there was more interaction or cameos with the Seaside Girls. They are some of my favorite characters. Those girls always amuse me.

The ending of this story had me laughing. Theresa got the Seaside Girls good. The ending also made me curious to what is next for the series. I'm really hoping Mira's best friend Serena gets her story told because the hints of the possible romances got me wanting to know more.

***REVIEW***
I had high expectations for the Tru Blue novel from Melissa Foster, and it was even better than I expected!!
The settings are well described in this book. I found it easy to picture where the characters are and what it is like. The details given about the Truman's art on the cars are very vivid. It made me wish I could see it in person.
The depth of the characters helps make this novel so great. The characters background stories helps make the reader understand who these characters are and why they've make the choices they do.
Truman's life was turned into a mess thanks to his mother, yet he makes the most of what he can. He is incredibly loyal and dedicated to his siblings, even if that means putting himself on the line to help save them. I love how much Truman cares about his siblings, friends, and Gemma. Even with the darkness of his past, Truman makes a perfect book boyfriend.
Gemma is so kind and loving, especially when it comes to Truman's siblings. I enjoy how pushy and bossy she can be when she wants something. She helps ground and balance Truman. The way Gemma's past is described makes me appreciate the way I grew up and how much my family cared. Although, I do wish there was more interaction between Gemma and her stepfather. The story left me curious as to how he truly is, especially with how their interaction is towards the end of the book.
Even the secondary characters are fantastic. I love the Whiskey family. I'm so excited that Bear Whiskey is getting a story!

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Unlock the Weird Review

I received the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Unlock the Weird! book through a promotion.

Growing up, I was a fan of the Ripley's Believe It or Not books. Turns out, I still am. I enjoy reading the write ups, facts, and strange stories. I especially enjoy the stories or achievements that have their pictures included in the book. It allows me to visualize and see what is actually being talked about.

The book is broken down into sections. These sections include: Believe it!, World, Animals, Body, Pop Culture, Transport, Feats, Art, Food, and Beyond Belief. My favorite sections are the Animals, Pop Culture, and Art. The Body section always intrigues me and grosses me out.

The Ripley's books are ones I have fun sharing with my nieces and nephews. It's fun to read the strange stories and facts with them. Their facial expressions towards the gross and the weirdest stories is almost as amusing as the book itself.

The book is a great gift for teens, preteens, or anyone who is a fan of weird and strange stories.

One of the stories in this book that grossed me out is the Sheep Dung Spitting. Who and why does someone do this? I would not want sheep dung anywhere near my mouth. This strange story had me cringing, yet my curiosity got the best of me. I had to read the strange story. The pictures had me too intrigued to just pass it by.

The Ripley's Believe It or Not! Unlock the Weird! is available at most retail bookstores. Check out more info on Unlock the Weird here.
